The Nordic Historical Fencing League recognizes the need for competent judges and referees to create a good environment for the fencers to test their skills in. The following individuals have all showed that they are competent tournament officials and are recommended by the League. We will strive to involve as many of them as possible in the League in the years to come.
Kristine Aagot Konsmo (NO/US), referee
Kristine has judged at Fechtschule America 2013. She has been referee at a big number of tournaments during 2013 and 2014, including Bergen Open and Swordfish 2014, three of the League tournaments 2014 and several smaller Swedish tournaments. She has attended two of the Swedish HEMA Federation judging courses.
Hans Jörnlind (SE), judge
Hans has been judging at Swordfish since 2008 (Longsword, sword and buckler and sabre). He has judged several smaller Swedish tournaments the last few years and three of the NHFL tournaments 2014. He has also, together with Axel Pettersson held two judging courses sanctioned by the Swedish HEMA Federation.
JennyAnn Petersson (SE), judge
JennyAnn has been judging at Swordfish 2013 and 2014. She has judged several smaller Swedish tournaments the last few years and three of the NHFL tournaments 2014. She has also judged International Lowlands HEMA Gathering 2013 and twice taken the Swedish HEMA Federation judging course.
Axel Pettersson (SE), judge
Axel is one of the main organizers for Swordfish, where he also acted as a judge 2009-2011. He has judged competitions all over the world, including Fechtschule America 2011-13, International Lowlands HEMA Gathering 2013 and 2014, Longpoint 2014, WWOC 2012 and three of the League tournaments. Axel developed the Swedish HEMA Federation judging course and has led the course three times.
Mikael Widegren (SE), referee
Mikael Widegren is likely the most experienced referee in the world, having reffed at Swordfish 2010-2014, Bergen Open 2013 and 2014, Longpoint 2012 and 2014, Helsinki Open 2014 and International Lowlands HEMA Gathering 2013.
